Sweethearts in the Air Force

Lexie and Orson met on a blind date and were pretty much smitten from the beginning. They then dated for a year and out of the blue decided it was time to go the distance. For those who don’t know, making big plans far out while working for the military can be impossible and very stressful. You never know when a new assignment will derail everything you have planned. So these two lovebirds decided to forego the stress and have an immediate family, and a couple close friends elopement. Very sweet, and personal!

Thankfully even with the short notice we were able to capture special moments!

It was so special that they were able to have family come into town for their ceremony, her family from Arizona and his from Utah.

Really cool note about this little baby dress Lexie’s niece is wearing, it was Lexie’s dress when she was a baby!

And of course we still needed to have a first look between the bride and groom!

Then it was time to go to the courthouse, and I am thrilled to report that the very dashing groom was also a gentleman! It was sweet watching him open the door for his sweetheart, and escort her in!

I don’t claim to be an expert by any means but I do have a collection of silk flowers that I was able to arrange based on Lexie’s requests. It was very sweet, she had a flower or color request to represent different people; her, Orson, her father (who passed away), and her mother. We were also lucky that in my small collection of wedding dresses that I keep for just such an occasion we were able to find one that fit her beautifully!

With the gathering of family and friends all that was left was to pay for their license and wait for their turn.

There are some benefits to having a courthouse ceremony, it is simple, short, and very sweet. You truly can make it anything you want it to be with little expense.

And don’t worry, there is still the first kiss!

Family photos!

I love taking the first Husband and Wife photos!

The fun didn’t just stop at the Fairfield Courthouse, based on Orson’s dad’s request we went on a little trip over to the Golden Gate Bridge and captured some gorgeous photos. This request was based on being stationed in Northern California as their first location as a married couple! It was so much fun, but OH SO COLD!

Best of luck to these two and I truly hope they enjoy all the adventures their life will bring!

CONGRATULATIONS LEXIE AND ORSON!
